Fleischerite is a mineral with hexagonal symmetry. Its chemical formula is Pb3Ge(SO4)2(OH)6 · 3H2O. Tends to have light red coloration, sub-vitreous or silky luster, and accicular habit. Hardness: 2.5-3. Named after Michael Fleischer, a co-founder of the International Mineralogical Association. Found in Tsumeb, Namibia. Forms in oxidized portions of a dolostone-hosted hydrothermal germanium-bearing polymetallic ore deposits. It is often confused with dundasite.
