FirstVet is a global pet health company that offers veterinary services from licensed veterinarians through their app and website. The company operates in the United States, United Kingdom, Germany, Sweden, Norway, Denmark and Finland. They also have e-commerce businesses in Sweden, where they offer both pet food and pet supplies.
The company was founded in Sweden in 2016 with the focus on providing more accessible pet care services. It offers veterinarian services across both their mobile applications and via their websites. Since its launch, FirstVet has held over 1 million veterinary consultations with pet owners.[1]
Expansion
[edit]In 2017, FirstVet formed their first partnership with the Swedish pet insurance company Svedea,[2] to offer their services free of charge in collaboration. Other insurance companies soon followed suit and as of 2022, FirstVet offers complimentary consultations in collaboration with over 60 insurance partners across Europe and the U.S.[3]
In 2018 FirstVet expanded to Finland. In 2019 FirstVet opened up their business in the United Kingdom, Denmark and Norway. In 2020 FirstVet opened up their veterinarian business in the United States[4] and Germany.[5]
In 2021, FirstVet extended the pet health offering to also sell pet food and other pet goods. As of October 2024, the FirstVet Shop is only available in Sweden.[6]
Funding
