Exit West is an upcoming American science fiction drama film directed by Yann Demange, based on the novel of the same name by Mohsin Hamid.
Premise
[edit]Amidst civil unrest in their country, Saeed and Nadia flee through three individual doors that takes them to different safe havens.

[edit]The film rights to the novel were first acquired by the Russo brothers production company AGBO in August 2017, with Morten Tyldum initially set to direct.[1] On March 5, 2020, Netflix acquired the film and Higher Ground Productions joined the project to co-produce with AGBO, and Yann Demange was now set to direct. Riz Ahmed was also set to star.[2] Joe Russo stated in an April interview that production on the film could begin soon at the time, but that depended on the COVID-19 pandemic and how film productions could commence during that time.[3] In an August 2022 interview, the novel's author Mohsin Hamid stated the film was still in the development stage.[4]
