Every Girl, released in 2011, was Bridget Kelly's debut EP through Roc Nation.[1] With elements of R&B and pop, it is notable for its lead single "Thinking About Forever", which was written by Frank Ocean and would later go on to become the popular single "Thinkin Bout You" off Ocean's own album, Channel Orange. [1][2] Other writers also include The-Dream and Ne-Yo.

Background

[edit]

Though not commercially released, the EP's singles, such as "Thinking About Forever" and "Seek and Destroy," raised Kelly's profile. She promoted Every Girl through a series of performances and media appearances, speaking candidly about themes of insecurity and self-exploration in Every Girl.[3][4]

Reception

[edit]

Every Girl received generally positive reviews from critics. It was praised for its exploration of issues such as love, betrayal, and self-empowerment as well as its raw lyricism and delivery.[5][3]
