The Eurovision Song Contest 2026 is expected to be the 70th edition of the Eurovision Song Contest. It will be organised by the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) and the designated host broadcaster, expected to coincide with the winner of the 2025 edition. The contest is expected to take place in May 2026.
Provisional list of participating countries
[edit]Eligibility for participation in the Eurovision Song Contest requires a national broadcaster with active EBU membership capable of receiving the contest via the Eurovision network and broadcasting it live nationwide. The EBU issues an invitation to participate in the contest to all active members.
As of July 2024,[update] no country has confirmed their intention to take part in the contest.
EBU members
[edit]- Montenegro – On 31 October 2024, Montenegrin broadcaster RTCG reported that Danijel Alibabić, the co-organiser of the 2025 national final Montesong, planned to hold the national final again the following year.[2]
- Serbia – On 18 July 2024, the Serbian broadcaster Radio Television of Serbia (RTS) published the rules for their national final for the 2025 contest, Pesma za Evroviziju '25 (PzE '25). Amongst them is a rule stating that the winner of PzE '25 has to hand over the PzE '26 trophy to that edition's winner, that is, to Serbia's representative at Eurovision 2026.[3][4]
- Slovenia – On 9 March 2024, Mario Galunič , editor at RTVSLO, drafted a document, with one of the points being a plan to return to selecting Slovene entries for Eurovision through the national final EMA from 2025 until 2028.[5][6] In 2025, Slovenia organized EMA.
