Erin Shanahan

[edit]

Erin Shanahan (born March 17, 2003) is an American singer-songwriter and musician known for her work in both country and pop music. Raised in Saint Charles, Illinois, to parents Tim and Anne Shanahan, Erin developed a deep interest in music from an early age. She began playing the piano at the age of eight and later picked up the guitar at thirteen after experimenting with her father's instrument.

Early Life and Musical Beginnings

[edit]

In February 2015, Erin and her family relocated to Nashville, Tennessee, a move that would open up significant opportunities in her musical journey. By age 12, she had written her first completed song, a country ballad titled "Chain of Love," which she performed at a talent show at Fred J. Page Middle School in March 2016. This performance caught the attention of a local music producer, leading to an invitation to record at Cave Studios in Leipers Fork, Tennessee. Rumor has it that she penned three country hits at this studio, which were later sold to major recording artists. This early success earned her a spot performing at the Ford Theatre in the Country Music Hall of Fame for an up-and-coming songwriters' showcase.

Rise in Country Music

[edit]

Erin’s country music career quickly gained momentum. She performed at some of Nashville's most prestigious venues, including the Grand Ole Opry, the Bluebird Cafe, and Fox & Locke. Her performances at these iconic venues solidified her reputation as a promising new voice in country music.

Transition to Pop and Songwriting Career

[edit]

In 2019, Erin made a notable shift from country to pop music, showcasing her versatility as an artist. This transition led to a contract with Capitol Records, where she contributed as a songwriter for newly signed artists. During her tenure with Capitol, Erin helped shape the sound of several emerging talents. However, in 2021, she abruptly parted ways with the label for undisclosed reasons.

Solo Releases and Hiatus

[edit]

Following her departure from Capitol Records, Erin released her debut solo single, "Roses," and later followed it up with "Favorite Feeling" in 2022. Despite minimal promotion, these singles hinted at her evolving artistry, blending emotional depth with her signature sound. Since then, Erin has maintained a relatively low profile, stepping back from the public eye.

Recent Developments

[edit]

In 2023, rumors surfaced that Erin was reconnecting with the music industry after being spotted with artists like Briston Maroney, GAYLE, and Aidan Bissett, potentially signaling ties to Atlantic and Capitol Records. While no formal announcements have been made, speculation continues to swirl around her future musical endeavors.
