Draft:Erfan Mojib
Submission declined on 17 September 2024 by Ca (talk). Most of the sources are written by Mojib or are affiliated with him, or are very short and basic. They are not enough to base an article on. However, his most notable works appear to be his translation, which has gotten reviews from reputable critics like Joseph Donahue. I think an article about his book of translated poems have better sources. I recommend making an article about the book instead.

Erfan Mojib (born 12 May 1984 in Yazd, Iran) is an Iranian writer and translator.[1] He holds a degree in Comparative Literature from UM Malaysia and an MFA in Creative Writing from the University of New Brunswick, Canada.[2] He has published several translated works of fiction, including Reza Ghassemi's The Spell Chanted by Lambs and a selection of poems by Hafez entitled Hafiz's Little Book of Life (co-translated with Gary Gach). Mojib is also the author of a children's book titled The Owl Who Paid Too Much Attention.[3]

Translation of Hafez
[edit]Hafiz's Little Book of Life received recognition for its translation, earning a Silver Medal in the 2004 Nautilus Book Awards for excellence in translation.[11] Joseph Donahue described it as "a poetic storm of well-turned lines" and a "hermeneutical whirlwind."[12] Dan Beachy-Quick, in the Colorado Review, stated that the translators "abundantly prove the ancient is the place at which we have not yet arrived."[13]
Olivia Braley of Stone of Madness Press described the translation as "agile and dynamic," suggesting it retained the essence of the original.[14] Timothy Liu, in his review for Plume, compared reading the translations to "rifling through a jewelry box filled with gems, some familiar, some strikingly unknown."[15]
