Edward Sunday professionally known as ‘Bros Eddy’ (born 30 October, 1973) is a Nigerian gospel music producer. He is the founder of Azusa Productions, a music and record company in Nigeria.[1]

Early life and education

Edward Sunday was born on 30 October, 1973 in Ibadan, Nigeria to Mr. & Mrs. Onokaya, but originally hails from Edo State, Nigeria. He was born as the second child among six siblings and spent most of his childhood in Lagos.

Edward received his primary education at Nurudeen Primary School in Ibadan, Nigeria, followed by secondary education at the University of Ibadan Staff School. He pursued further studies at The Polytechnic, Ibadan, where he obtained both an Ordinary National Diploma and a Higher National Diploma in Estate Management. In 2021, he attained a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Music, Sound Engineering, and Concert Production from ESCAE-University, Benin .[2]

Career

Edward Sunday began his career in music at the age of nine as the choirmaster of the children's section at a local church.[3]

In 1998, Edward Sunday embarked on his career as a producer and engineer at the VIF Studio located in Ikeja, Lagos, Nigeria.[4]In 2012, Edward Sunday became Head Sound Engineer and Technical Director at The Present House, also known as The Water Brook. In 2016, Edward Sunday served as a judge for Voice Out, a music contest.[5]

In 2020, he left his role at The Water Brook and founded Azusa Productions, a music and record production company.

Recognition

In 2023, Sunday was awarded with the Kingdom Achievers Award.[7][8] In 2019, he was also honored as one of the gospel icons by the Annual Gospel Music Awards.[9]
