Dull Boy Jack is a rock band from Tromsø in Northern Norway. Formed in 2006, the band is known for its energetic performances and distinctive rock sound.[1].
History
[edit]Dull Boy Jack was founded in 2006 by Einar Fagertun, Tommy Jakobsen, Guttorm Sørensen, Jarle M. Johansen, and Øystein Johansen. Initially, the band made a name for itself by performing at festivals and venues throughout Northern Norway, known for their energetic shows and raw rock sound. In 2008, the lineup saw its first changes when Jarle M. Johansen and Øystein Johansen were replaced by Mattis Nyheim and Samuel Kuttner. This lineup change marked a new phase for the band as they continued to build their reputation in the Norwegian rock scene. In 2010, Guttorm Sørensen departed, and Rune Sivertsen joined the band, bringing a fresh dynamic to their music. Jarle M. Johansen also rejoined the band during this period[2]. The band continued to evolve, but in 2015, Tommy Jakobsen and Jarle M. Johansen left the group. They were replaced by Thorbjørn Sverre Reppe and Magnus Pettersen, who contributed to the band's continued progression. However, Thorbjørn left in 2017, and Markus Myrvold stepped in as the new guitarist after a brief stint with Eivind Killie. In 2018, Magnus Pettersen left the band to pursue other opportunities, and Dull Boy Jack performed as a quartet for about a year. In late 2019, Marius Arnesen Høiseth joined the band, expanding the lineup once again. The band faced challenges during the COVID-19 pandemic but used the time to write new material and record a full-length studio album in the coming years. In 2021, Markus Myrvold left the band, and Sander Bærøy Johansen joined, contributing to the band's sound for nearly three years. By 2024, both Einar Fagertun and Sander Bærøy Johansen had departed to focus on other projects. The band welcomed Elin Kile as the new lead vocalist, ushering in a new era for Dull Boy Jack[1].
