Career Dr. Straukiene serves as a Consultant Neurologist at Torbay and South Devon NHS Foundation Trust. Dr. Straukiene has a deep love for sailing, often spending her summers exploring the waters of Greece and Italy. She also has a lifelong passion for ballroom dancing, which she has enjoyed since childhood. Dancing runs in her family; her brother, a world and European champion in ballroom formation dancing, is a prominent member of the famous Zuvedra Dancing Club and now runs his own dance school. Dr. Straukiene continues to reconnect with her roots by dancing during visits to her family.

In May 2023, Dr. Straukiene tragically lost her beloved mother, a highly respected pharmacist known for her holistic approach to patient care. To honour her mother’s legacy, Dr. Straukiene continues to incorporate a holistic perspective in her work with patients. Her father remains her source of strength, serving both as a mother and father figure. A cornerstone in her decision to pursue medicine, her father instilled the values of dedication and discipline in both his children, for which Dr. Straukiene is deeply grateful.

On most evenings of weekdays, Dr. Straukiene spends time playing tennis on open courts in the UK. Whether it’s sunny, freezing, snowing, or raining, she remains committed to her sport, finding joy and resilience in all weather conditions.
