- Comment: In addition, the article is not neutral in tone and reads as promotional due to the lack of citations to "positive" content. For example, "example of the vibrant and diverse Ukrainian", "positive reviews" and "wide support from the music platform Spotify" are not properly cited. Disappeared Completely is a Ukrainian English-language music project founded by Vitalii Shapka (also known as James Header) in 2016. The band consists of Vitaliі Shapka, Maryna Kryklia (since 2020), and Khrystyna Zahorska. They work in the genre of alternative music in the style of indie pop, trip hop, blues, electronica, and rock.[1]
History
[edit]The founder of the band, Vitalii Shapka, had been working on music alone since 2012, writing many neoclassical compositions and a large number of lyrics for songs that he did not dare to publish. A few years later, he met Victoriya Fedorenko and immediately suggested that she create a musical project and share vocal parts. Then Khrystyna Zahorska, who plays keyboards, joined the group. Anton Syomas was invited to the group as a guitarist a little later, taking over the guitar parts. In 2019, Vitalii invited Mykhailo Aleshchenko to be the second guitarist. The guys were connected not only by friendship in life, but also by social work at the university and in the group.[2]
Disappeared Completely became famous thanks to YouTube. Disappeared Completely was contacted by the founders of the music YouTube channel and label La belle musique, and they signed a contract with them.[3]
Disappeared Completely released their debut album "Sea of Fallen Nests". During the pre-order stage, Apple Music added the track "Piano 223" to the "Best of the Week" playlist segment! Disappeared Completely's subsequent songs "Rains of Apologies" and the EP album "Dissolved" entered the charts of various countries, including France, Ukraine, Belgium, Germany, UK.
Disappeared Completely also collaborated with illustrator Eduardo Recife, who specially created the cover for the EP "Dissolved".[2]
In 2020, Disappeared Completely released their second EP, "Contradictions".[4]
James Header on the project:
"We don't want to be idolized. Disappeared Completely is not about a pretty cover, it's about quality content. The point of our project is to show that ordinary people can do something extraordinary. We make music and we dissolve into it. Or maybe we don't exist at all?"[5]
For the album "Contradictions" the band was nominated for the ukranian music award "Aprize Music Award".[6]
As of 2023, the band's members have changed significantly. Due to personal differences, the following members eventually left the band: Anton Sёmash, Viktoriia Fedorenko, and Mykhailo Aleshchenko. Since 2022, the band has included: Vitalii Shapka, Maryna Kryklia, who joined the band in 2020, and Khrystyna Zahorska, who remained from the original band.[7]
Second full-length album "Pretty Average"
[edit]In June 2023, the band released the song "Speak to Me", which is considered atypical for them. This is the band's first song in the blues-rock genre, with this song Disappeared Completely announced a new album.[8]
Disappeared Completely officially represented Ukraine at various international showcase festivals in Europe, as an example of Ukrainian culture.[9]
In October 2023, the band's second full-length album, titled "Pretty Average", was released. The Ukrainian music media "Sluh" placed "Pretty Average" at the TOP 3 of the best albums of the year.[10]
Also, the songs from the album received support from the music platform Spotify, the platform added the song Personal 2 to the "All New Rock" global playlist.[11]
The band performed at the Atlas United 24 festival in support of Ukraine, stating the importance of holding music festivals even during war.[12]
S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl (Radio Mix OST)
