General Information

Delil (also known as Delil Band) is a turkey-based rock band. The band consists of five members including Göktuğ Çabukel (guitar),Eren Akdoğan (bass), Yunus Emre Çakmak (keyboard,vocals),Yusuf Yuşa(drums), and Adnan El Chouli(vocals). the five band members are all currently students of Abdullah Gül Üniversitesi in Kayseri, Turkey. the band is most known for their usage of keyboard in un usual places and their experimental harmonies.

History

the band was created in 2023 by Göktuğ and Eren alongside a third person. Eren and Göktuğ managed to find two vocals, Adnan and another person, to join their band. The band went under the name of 7Minutes with 6 members including Adnan, Eren, and Göktuğ from the current lineup, and three people who later on left the band in 2024 due to complications.

adding Yunus

after the departure of the three old members, the band needed new members desperately. the band was lacking a rhythm line and a drummer. Yunus Emre Çakmak was one of Göktuğ's closest friends and later on became friends with the rest of the band. after some time, Yunus wanted to pick up music and bought his first keyboard. he went on to join the band early 2024 and become their rhythm line. After experimenting, Adnan found huge potential in Yunus's voice, and is currently singing vocals alongside Yunus after some convincing

changing the name

after the addition of Yunus, the band needed a rebranding. the band settled on the name Delil, since it has meanings in both the Turkish and the Arabic language, with the general meaning revolving around "guidance and clues"

adding Yusuf

Since the biggening of 2024, the band was left without a drummer. Delil release an announcement that they were looking for a drummer. through that announcement, they met with Yusuf Yuşa, an electrical engineering student at their same university. before even seeing his drum skills, the band felt a natural chemistry to with Yusuf, and immediately decided that he would be the perfect addition to the band
