David Jen (born May 17, 2007) is an American youth activist, nonprofit leader, and content creator. He is the founder and Executive Director of The Learn AAPI History Project (https://www.learnaapihistory.org/), an organization dedicated to incorporating Asian American and Pacific Islander history into school curriculums. Jen is also the CEO of Young Journalists of America (https://www.youngjournalistsofamerica.org/), a platform amplifying youth voices in journalism.

Early Life and Education

David Jen was born in Pennington, New Jersey, on May 17, 2007. He is a senior at The Wilberforce School, where he holds various leadership positions, including Editor-in-Chief of the yearbook, Junior Varsity Captain of the Cross Country Team, and Founder of the Creative Writing Club.

Career

David Jen began his advocacy work by founding Young Journalists of America in 2020, a youth-led platform supporting over 200 contributors. He later founded The Learn AAPI History Project in 2022 to address the underrepresentation of AAPI history in school curriculums.

Jen has collaborated with organizations such as Teach Asian American Stories, AAPI New Jersey, and the Asian Americans with Disabilities Initiative to expand educational resources and advocate for the AAPI community. In 2024, he published a free children’s book titled *AAPI History: A to Z* as part of his nonprofit initiatives.
