Daniel Kimbro (1809-1883) was a Mexican-American War veteran. He settled the town of Norman's Crossing, originally known as Avery.[1] Kimbro arrived in San Augustine, Texas in 1836, shortly before the war of independence.[2] He was one of the signers of the petition to create Williamson County, and he was an active part of the county's development.[2]
