Wesley Chibambo (10 August 1978 – 2 January 2025), professionally known as Dandy Krazy, was a Zambian musician recognized for his contributions to the country's music industry and his influence on political discourse through his art.

Early Life and Career

Born on 10 August 1978 in the Copperbelt Province of Zambia, Chibambo developed an early interest in music. He gained national recognition with his 2011 song "Donchi Kubeba," which became associated with Zambia's 2011 general elections and was widely regarded as a cultural and political anthem of the time.[1]

Dandy Krazy's music often incorporated social and political commentary, resonating with a broad audience across Zambia. His ability to blend traditional Zambian sounds with contemporary music styles earned him a significant following and cemented his status as an influential figure in the Zambian music scene.

Death

On 2 January 2025, Chibambo passed away from injuries sustained in a road traffic accident that occurred on New Year's Eve along the Great North Road between Kabwe and Kapiri Mposhi. He was admitted to the University Teaching Hospital in Lusaka, where he underwent emergency surgery but succumbed to his injuries in the early hours of the morning.[2]
