Christian Fontenot born 1st of March 2004 is a renowned professional Pokémon player from the United States. He has made significant contributions to the Pokémon competitive scene and is known for his strategic gameplay and sportsmanship.
Competitive Career
[edit]Christian Fontenot began his competitive Pokémon career in 2016, playing in the senior division and while he had a slow start eventually he got up to speed and has done very well.[1]
Major Achievements
[edit]- 2024 Stuttgart Regional: Champion[2]
- Christian won the event with the deck commonly known as SableZard having a great comeback during Game 1 of the Finals. And after a quick game 2 he took home the grand prize of $10.000[3]
- 2023 Arlington Regional: Quarter Finalist[4]
- Christian managed to place in the top 8 with the Regi deck he played to many Day 2 Finishes.
- 2024 Gdansk Regional: Top 32[5]
- Christian played the popular deck Mew vmax piloting it to a Top 32 finish, he used the fusion variant which has the ability to attack going first and powering through the powerful spiritomb card with the fusion energy cards in his deck.
The Lost Zone Kitchen
[edit]In recent years Christian has been a part of a Pokémon tcg team, named the lost zone kitchen. This is a group of mainly American players that are sponsored by the card store known as 88 Cardhouse.[6]
Play Style and Strategies
[edit]Christian Fontenot is known for his unique deck choices and really committing to decks, such as when he played the "Regi Deck"[7]
Contributions to the Community
[edit]Beyond his success in tournaments, Christian Fontenot is also known for his contributions to the Pokémon community. He streams matches and reviews tournament matches on his twitch for people to watch and learn from.[8] He also coaches some players on how they can get better at the game![9]
