Charles Douglas "Doug" Wilson is an American businessman and automobile dealer known for founding Wilson Auto Group.[1][2][3][4]
Early life and education
[edit]Wilson was born in Jackson, Mississippi.[5][1] He graduated from Murrah High School and earned a finance degree from the University of Mississippi in 1982.[6][1][7]
Career
[edit]Wilson founded Wilson Dodge in Jackson, Mississippi, in 1988, and later relocated the dealership to Lakeland Drive.[7] Under his leadership, Wilson Auto Group expanded to include a Kia franchise in 1999 and a Hyundai franchise in 2003.[6][8] In 2013, Wilson opened Wilson Premier Hyundai and established a Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram franchise in Collierville, Tennessee.[5][9][10]
He owns various commercial and residential properties, including timberland and recreational land,[7] and operates the only Tesla dealership in Mississippi.[7]
Community Involvement
[edit]Wilson has served as a deacon at Broadmoor Baptist Church and has held leadership positions in the Jackson Auto Dealers Association and the Mississippi Auto Dealers Association.[6][11] He has supported various organizations, including the New Stage Theatre and the Blair Batson UMC Children's Cancer Clinic.[1][12]

[edit]Wilson is married to Melanie Wilson, and they have four children.[5][6][1] He holds a pilot's license and participates in volunteer missions through Angel Flight and Mercy Flight.[7]
