Charles Byrne (born 26 October 1944 in Dublin) is an Irish former professional darts player who competed in World Darts Federation (WDF) events of the 1970s.[citation needed]
Career
[edit]Byrne make here staged of the 1977 WDF World Cup with Team Ireland among others are Seamus O'Brien, Patrick Clifford & Jim McQuillan, Byrne losing to Alan Evans of Wales by 4–2 legs.
Byrne making his Winmau World Masters debut in 1977, before losing to New Zealand's Bill Rose by 1–3 legs.
Byrne runner up of the 1978 BDO Nations Cup are defeating by Team Wales with Alan Evans, Leighton Rees & Tony Ridler in the quarter finals and Team America of the sudden death playoff semi finals with Conrad Daniels Cam Melchiorre & Nicky Virachkul by 3–0, before losing to Team Sweden with Stefan Lord, Bjørn Enqvist and Kenth Ohlsson by 1–3 legs.
Byrne won the 1977 Irish National Darts Championships champion are defeating by Sean Morris of Ireland.
Byrne staged debut of the 1978 BDO World Darts Championship, before losing to Kenth Ohlsson of Sweden by 5–4 legs.
