Carla Gutiérrez

Carla Gutiérrez is an Mexican-American documentary film editor. She edited RBG and La corona, both nominated for Oscars, and Frida, which won the 2024 Documentary Editing award at Sundance 2024.[1]

Life and work

Gutierrez has served as a editing mentor for organizations supporting documentary filmmakers and has been an advisor for the Sundance Institute Documentary Edit and Story Labs. Her first widely acclaimed work was on the documentary short La corona, which was nominated for an Oscar in 2008.

Most recently, she edited the biopics RBC, Julia, and Frida.
