The Canadian Society for the Study of Education (CSSE) / La Société canadienne pour l’étude de l’éducation (SCÉÉ) is a professional organization representing education researchers in Canada. It is a bilingual organization that consists of _ smaller associations representing different sectors of education research.
The organization has three objectives:
- "provide for the discussion of studies, issues and trends in education, and for the dissemination of research findings;"
- "promote exchanges among members and other educational researchers in Canada and internationally;" and
- "foster partnerships and, through educational research, influence public policy and help determine the nature, structure and funding of the research agenda. CSSE endeavours to accomplish this objective through involving researchers reflective of the sociocultural diversity of Canada."[1]
History
[edit]Organization and government
[edit]CSSE is governed by a board of directors and led by a President-Elect, Vice-President (Anglophone), Vice-President (Francophone), and Vice-President (Indigenous). The constituent associations, as well as the graduate student committee, have their own presidents.[1]

[edit]CSSE publishes the Canadian Journal of Education / Revue canadienne de l'éducation, a bilingual educational journal established in 1976.[2]
