Brayan Rojitas is a Colombian electronic music artist consisting of Bogotá-born.

History

[edit]

Brayan began creating music in 2020 and has been passionate about music since the age of 8. He initially experimented with disco funk samples and discovered Japanese funk, also known as J-Pop, in the same year.

Brayan started uploading his music to SoundCloud, where his tracks gained attention after being promoted by the YouTube channel Real Love Music. This exposure led to his music being noticed by editors of Spotify's official playlists. He was subsequently featured on two tracks in the official Future Funk[1] playlist, alongside collaborations with artists such as yuugen and Zai Kowen.

In 2023, Brayan released his album Horizon, a project that took three and a half years to complete. The album was released under the Berry Good Records[2] label and became a bestseller in the Future Funk category on Bandcamp's and Discogs[3] Bogotá, Disco House. Horizon was also recognized as one of the best Future Funk albums of 2023.[4]

Musical style

[edit]

Brayan's musical style is characterized by its lively, cheerful, and energetic nature. His music blends elements of disco funk, future funk, and J-Pop, creating a vibrant and dynamic atmosphere. Influenced by the infectious rhythms and catchy melodies of Japanese funk, Brayan incorporates a variety of disco and funk samples, combined with bright synthesizers and fast-paced beats, resulting in a sound that invites movement and celebration.

Drawing inspiration from classic French house, Brayan's music is heavily influenced by artists such as Modjo, Yung Bae, Daft Punk, Stardust, and other key figures of the genre. These influences are evident in his use of groovy basslines, filtered disco loops, and upbeat rhythms, creating a nostalgic yet modern fusion of sounds. His style is distinguished by its ability to convey a sense of euphoria and optimism through his compositions, while maintaining a fresh and energetic vibe.

The influence of J-Pop is also evident in his experimental approach, using harmonies and melodies typical of the genre but blending them with modern electronic elements. This combination has allowed him to connect with a global audience that enjoys his upbeat, high-voltage take on electronic music.
