Brandon Quantavius Richardson (born September 23, 1984) [1][2] is an American actor, entrepreneur, and television personality recognized for his appearances in Love & Hip Hop: Miami, Meet the Browns, and Tundra II. Richardson is also the founder and CEO of Urban Smoke Miami, a Hookah bar in Miami Beach, Florida. His career spans acting, business, and music production, following his previous service in the U.S. Army as a veteran of the Iraq War.[3]
Early life and education
[edit]Richardson was born in Albany, Georgia, United States.[2] He attended the University of Miami, where he pursued his education before entering the military and later the entertainment industry.
Career

[edit]In 2004, at the age of 19, Richardson enlisted in the United States Army, initially signing a three-year contract that was extended due to the "stop-loss" policy. His service, which lasted until 2012, included two tours in Iraq, where he rose to the rank of Sergeant. During a 2007 deployment, Richardson survived an IED attack that resulted in injuries and a temporary stay in Germany for medical recovery. For his service, Richardson was awarded the Army Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Iraq Campaign Medal, Superior Unit Award, and Army Service Ribbon. In 2017, he was honored as #VeteranOfTheDay by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs for his role in Operation Iraqi Freedom.[4]
Acting
[edit]Richardson began his career in the entertainment industry with roles in television and film, including Meet the Browns, The Heat, Horrible Bosses 2, Shake and On Sacred Ground.[5] He has appeared in various television series such as Love & Hip Hop: Miami, Family Guy, Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, Tough Love, and LA Ink. In addition to acting, Richardson has participated in commercial work, including a Gatorade ad alongside professional athletes Kevin Durant and Dwyane Wade.[3]
Richardson is the founder and CEO of Urban Smoke Miami, a business venture based in Miami, Florida.[3][6] Moreover, he has collaborated with BMajor Music Group, a music label associated with NFL Super Bowl Champion Bryant "BMac" McKinnie.[7] His work with the label includes involvement in music production.[8]
Awards and recognition
[edit]In 2010, Richardson received the Teen Choice Award for Choice Activist. Earlier in his career, he won recognition at the Aspen Shortfest in 2003 for his performance in Tundra II.[9]

Personal life
[edit]Richardson has one son, Princeton Cartier Gates-Richardson, born on April 25, 2015, with former partner Talia Gates. He is also the godfather of Deiondra Sanders' son, the grandson of Deion Sanders.[10]
