From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Bopl Battle is a multiplayer platform fighting game developed by Johan Grönvall and published by Zapray Games. It was released on November 16, 2023, and is available on Steam for Windows.[1][2].

Gameplay

[edit]

In Bopl Battle, players control animated slimes, known as 'Bopls', that fight each other using various special abilities. The goal is to be the last slime standing by defeating your opponents in creative and unexpected ways[3][4].

Abilities

[edit]
  • Dash: The Bopl launches towards the cursor.
  • Grenade: The Bopl holds a grenade for a set time, which can explode and kill the Bopl if held for too long. The grenade can also be thrown at other players.
  • Bow: The Bopl turns into a bow and slowly falls if not released.
  • Engine: Places an engine on the platform to move it.
  • Blink Ray: The Bopl turns into a ray, shooting towards the cursor and turning any object invisible for a short time.
  • Gust: Objects around the Bopl are pushed away.
  • Growth Ray: The Bopl shoots a ray that causes other players to grow in size.
  • Rock: The Bopl turns into a boulder, killing any Bopl in its path.
  • Missile: Launches a missile that follows the cursor and explodes on contact.
  • Spike: A sword emerges from the platform below the Bopl.
  • Time Stop: Stops time after a short delay, allowing the player to use abilities to eliminate others.
  • Smoke: Functions like the grenade but releases smoke and dust, exploding if certain conditions are met.
  • Platform: Creates a platform below the Bopl.
  • Revival: Revives the player the first time they die. Multiple revives clone the Bopl.
  • Roll: The Bopl charges and moves around platforms, requiring other Bopls to jump to avoid being killed.
  • Shrink Ray: The Bopl shoots a ray that causes other players to shrink.
  • Black Hole: Creates a black hole that sucks in other Bopls on the platform.
  • Invisibility: Temporarily makes the Bopl invisible.
  • Meteor: The Bopl charges and moves down with force, killing any Bopl in its path.
  • Throw: The Bopl throws a piece of the platform, shrinking it and killing any Bopl it hits.
  • Grab: Moves the platform towards the cursor.
  • Tesla Coil: Places a tesla coil that creates an electric line, killing Bopls.
  • Mine: A floating grenade that follows enemy Bopls before exploding.
  • Teleport: Teleports objects inside a circle to another location.
  • Drill: The Bopl turns into a drill, killing any Bopl in its path.
  • Grappling Hook: Throws a hook that attaches to objects, grappling enemies if they are nearby.
  • Beam: Shoots a laser that kills Bopls in its path. When two beams collide, they create a larger beam.

Scrapped Abilities

[edit]
  • Turret: A turret that shoots blue spheres, killing any Bopl in its path.
  • Charge: The Bopl charges and explodes upon death.
  • Macho-Slime: Later turned into Throw, this ability allowed the Bopl to slam and punch the ground, killing any Bopl in its path.
