Best of Enemies is an upcoming American thriller film written by Eric Warren Singer. Is it an adaptation by Eric Warren Singer of the book Best of Enemies: The Last Great Spy Story of the Cold War by Eric Dezenhall and Gus Russo. Christian Bale and Bradley Cooper are starring with Charles Roven producing.
Premise
[edit]As per the 2018 book by Dezenhall and Russo, Best of Enemies detials how CIA agent Jack Platt (Cooper) and KGB agent Gennady Vasilenko (Bale), became developed an unlikely bond as a pair of Cold War spies after meeting in Washington D.C. in 1978.[1]

Production
[edit]Eric Warren Singer has adapted the 2018 book to be produced by Charles Roven for Atlas Entertainment. In December 2023, Christian Bale and Bradley Cooper were in talks for the lead roles as the Cold War spies, with all four having previously worked together on American Hustle.[2] Later that same month, Amazon MGM Studios acquired rights to the project in a bidding war that included eight other studios including Warner Bros. Pictures.[3]
