Behnam Sadeghi

[edit]

Behnam Sadeghi is a Mathematical Geoscientist and Research Fellow at the Australian Resource Research Centre (ARRC) within CSIRO, Australia, and he is also a Fulbrighter who served Research Scholar at the Earth and Planets Laboratory (EPL), Carnegie Institution for Science, Washington, D.C., USA.[1][2][3][4] Behnam's professional focus centers primarily on mineral exploration, with a current emphasis on Critical Minerals and Energy Transition.

As a pioneering mathematical geoscientist specializing in fractals and multifractals, Behnam authored a reference book published by Elsevier (2024), titled "Fractals and Multifractals in the Geosciences".[5]

Education

[edit]

Ph.D. in Geosciences, 2020, University of New South Wales (UNSW), Sydney, Australia.

Scientific Awards

[edit]

Due to his promising contributions in research in the application of mathematics/informatics in any field of the Earth Sciences, Behnam stands as the inaugural recipient of the esteemed International Association for Mathematical Geosciences (IAMG) Founders Scholarship Award in the year 2020[6][7], in addition to securing the IAMG 2023 Andrei Borisovich Vistelius Research Award[8][9][10].

Employment

[edit]

2023-Present, Research Fellow, CSIRO, Australia.[11]

2023-2024, Fulbright Scholar, Earth and Planets Laboratory (EPL), Carnegie Institution for Science, Washington, D.C., USA.

2022-2025, Visiting Research Fellow, Earth and Sustainability Science Research Centre (ESSRC), UNSW, Australia.
