BeatmaniaIIDX 30 RESIDENT is a music video game and the 30th installment of the Beatmania IIDX series of video games. The main motif of this release was the title concept of Resident DJ. It was announced on August 3, 2022 celebrating the 30th anniversary of the IIDX game series.[1] Location tests began in Kanagawa on August 5, 2022, ending on August 7, 2022. It was released for new cabinets on October 19, 2022. This was the first beatmania IIDX game to run at 1080p. This release also marked the first IIDX game featuring music made with Toby Fox, best known for his creation of the videogame Undertale. [2]
Gameplay
[edit]Beatmania IIDX tasks the player with performing songs through a controller consisting of seven key buttons and a scratchable turntable.[3] Hitting the notes with strong timing increases the score and groove gauge bar, allowing the player to finish the stage. Failing to do so depletes the gauge until it is empty, abruptly ending the song.[4]
