Battle of Polytimetus River, was a battle fought between Alexander the Great’s Macedon led by Pharnuches of Lycia and Sogdian rebels led by Spitamenes. The battle took place at the Polytimetus River in the territories of Sogdia, which is now called the Zarafshon (river) in modern day Uzbekistan and Tajikistan.
