Banguntapan is a district in Bantul Regency, Special Region of Yogyakarta. It's also the most populated district in Bantul Regency.</ref> together with the official estimates as at mid 2022.^[1] Its villages are 8, and one of largest and its admin centre is Baturetno. This district is near Kotagede, home of the first capital of Mataram Sultanate.
