- Comment: Fails the requirements of WP:NALBUM - X (formerly Twitter), Instagram and Ra.co are not acceptable or reliable sources. Noting interviews with Babyxsosa are primary sources and are therefore not independent. The only cited reference that is reliable is the Pitchfork - needs additional secondary sources like that. Babyonce is the debut studio album by American rapper and singer Babyxsosa. It was released independently on October 19, 2024, following her 2023 self-titled extended play .[1] The entire album was produced by long-term collaborater[2] Nick Weiss, professionally known as Nightfeelings. The album sonically strays away from her usual trap style, evolving into more electronic, ambient, and techno influences.
Recording
[edit]The recording and production of Babyonce spanned over a few weeks. Babyxsosa noted, however, that its sound took 6 years to curate, and is the product of her "10,000 hours."
Release
[edit]She first began to tease her album in mid-2024 through social media. Amidst releasing various non-singles, she posted snippets presumed to be ideas for the album. On September 29, she first announced that she would be releasing a self-titled EP that would be released on October 24th;she had already released a self-titled EP in the year prior.[3] She later amended this statement stating that she would be officially releasing her debut album, first with 9 tracks, then 10. She previewed various songs on social media. To accompany the album release, she held a listening party in Los Angeles in partnership with Donda's Place and SNUFF Magazine on October 19.[4] Following the listening party, she released the album to streaming services the same night.
