Dr. B. Vinod Kumar is an Indian physician/ scientist specializing in Cardiology. He is the Managing Director of Chennai Cardiac Care (C3 Clinic[1]), which is registered under Tamil Nadu Clinical Trial Establishment Act. He is a Managing Trustee of C3 Research Foundation[2], which is registered as a Trust in Tamil Nadu society and registered under Ministry of Home Affair. He is also an Associate Professor and senior consultant interventional cardiologist in Department of CardiologySri Ramachandra University, Chennai India.

Dr. B. Vinod Kumar[3] has been delivering care to patients with cardiac disease across the country via Chennai Cardiac Care and tele-medicine for over 11 years. He has trained hundreds of cardiologists in India. He has contributed to scientific research on cardiology for over 8 years and has published over 10 articles. He also serves on various national and international bodies in his field of specialization. He has done observership programme at Mount Sinai Hospital (New York, USA), Health Science Centre at Houston (Texas, USA) and Kurashiki Central Hospital (Okayama, Japan). Did a short-term Fellowship in Intra vascular imaging at ASAN medical center Seoul Southkorea. His filed of interest are Interventional Cardiology especially complex Coronary Interventions such as CTO’s/ Left Main bifurcation, structural Heart disease Interventions and perform Permanent Pacemakers. Through his C3 Research Foundation he has conducted Continuous Medical Education program, National and International conference to enlighten the doctors on the basics and advancement in cardiology treatment. His Foundation also have done many camps to serve the poor people and help them to recovery from ailments. His dream project called as PULSE has helped many school and college children for their education and also for their medical aliments. Dr. B Vinod Kumar’s activities cover a wide range of clinical services, research, training and education, public education, community engagement including rural cardiac disease services and charity.

Education

Grew up and did the school in Thanjavur. Received his Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Pondicherry (Mahatma Gandhi Medical College & Research Institute) in 2006. He completed Post Graduate Diploma in Health Sciences in Diabetology from Annamalai University[4], Chidambaram in 2008. He completed Master of Science (M.S.) in Counselling and Psychotherapy in 2010. He completed his Master Degree (M.D. in General Medicine) from Bharath University[5], Chennai (Sree Balaji Medical College and Hospitals) in 2012. He obtained his DM Degree in Cardiology from Sri Ramachandra University, Chennai in 2015 with a University Gold Medal. Currently, he is pursuing his Ph.D in Cardiology at Sri Ramachandra University.

Clinical Services

Dr. B. Vinod Kumar started his work on cardiac disease at the age of 18 as an undergraduate medical student. In 2009, together with his father, he set up the private diabetes and cardiology center in Mogappair, Chennai. After his completion of Superspeciality in Cardiology at 2015, he started his own private cardiology center Chennai Cardiac Care (C3 Clinic) at Mogappair, Chennai in 2016. This center is registered under Tamil Nadu Clinical Establishment Act. He and his wife Dr. D. Sindhu[6] and their colleagues currently oversee this centre and have over 2000 registered patients. He continued his clinical service at Sri Ramachandra Medical Centre, Chennai as an assistant professor from 2015 to 2020 and from 2021 onwards he has be promoted as Associate professor and In charge of cardiac intensive care unit of Sri Ramachandra Medical Centre, Chennai.

Research

In 2016, S. Balakrishnana, Dr.B.Vinod Kumar and his wife D. Sindhu established the C3 Research Foundation (C3RF), a non-profit organization at Chennai which has grown to become one of the standalone cardiology research center with many eminent advisors on board. This foundation is registered as Trust in Tamil Nadu Society. It is also registered under Ministry of Home affair for receiving foreign funds (FCRA). He is a part of research team at Sri Ramachandra Medical Centre, Cardiology Unit, Chennai. Till date he has published 10 original articles. He is a part of trails conducted Sri Ramachandra Medical Centre, Cardiology Unit. His research combines clinical, epidemiological, and genomic aspects of Cardiology. His filed of interest are Epidemiology of Cardiac Disease and its complications, Genomics of cardiac disease, Nutrition and Cardiac Disease, Interventional Cardiology especially complex Coronary Interventions such as CTO’s/ Left Main bifurcation, structural Heart disease Interventions and perform Permanent Pacemakers.

Dr. B.Vinod Kumar foundation has conducted Continuous Medical Education program[7], National and International conference to enlighten the doctors on the basics and advancement in cardiology treatment. He has be invited as a guest lecture from various colleges, Universities and boards from National and International level.

Rural Cardiac Services and Charity

Dr.B.Vinod Kumar foundation have done many camps to serve the poor people and help them to recovery from ailments. His dream project called as PULSE[8] has sponsored many school and college children for their education and also for their medical aliments. His Foundation is registered under Give India portal to receive funds various projects to serve the poor people.
