Awesome Tanks is an online browser game published on January 12th, 2012 by developer Alexander Gette, artist Jurij Krivonos, and musician Christian M. Krogsvold[1]. Its gameplay features a top-down camera view, many tank options, upgrades, badges, and non-vector stylized art. The game has been expanded into a sequel and has also been given a mobile adaptation by Mno Go Apps, who presumably now holds the rights to the franchise.

The original games were developed in Adobe Flash Player, as were many similar games of that genre.

Gameplay

[edit]

Like other Flash games, Awesome Tanks features simple 2D graphics and semi-involved gameplay. This gameplay consists of driving around a tank body with a turret mounted on it that can be switched to resemble and mimic other tank classes by pressing the number keys. These classes must be acquired either by purchasing them using in-game currency or by default, when the game loads. The player then must clear the current level to move on to the next one. If the player has failed to defeat every enemy on the playing field and dies prematurely, they can still exit the level with their collected coins and use them to upgrade their tank or turret.
