Assassination is an upcoming film directed by Barry Levinson a king the assassination of John F. Kennedy. Starring Al Pacino, Jessica Chastain, Brendan Fraser and Bryan Cranston.

Synopsis

Chicago Outfit mafia boss Sam Giancana orders the assassination of the President he helped elect after he enacts laws that compromises the mafia and crackdown on organised crime.[1]

The project was initially announced under the title 2 Days/1963. Script co-writers are David Mamet and Nicholas Celozzi, who is the grandson of Sam Giancana.[2] Bonnie Giancana, daughter of the Sam Giancana, will be a consultant and executive producer.[3] Courtney Love, Viggo Mortensen, Shia LaBeouf, Al Pacino and John Travolta were announced to star, with Robert Elswit on board as cinematographer.[4] Mamet was initially announced as director but Barry Levinson was then announced to as director in October 2023.[5] In October, it was announced Jessica Chastain, Brendan Fraser and Bryan Cranston had joined the cast, replacing Love, Mortensen and Travolta respectively, with Pacino the only cast member remaining from the previous announcement.[6]

Filming

Principal photography was initially expected to begin in Vancouver in September 2023.[7] However, the following month it was reported that Barry Levinson was retooling the project.[8] Filming was later rescheduled to take place in Boston, Massachusetts in early 2025.[9]
