Arthour (Armenian: Արթուր Հակոբյան, born June 22, 2001), commonly known as Arthour. or Arthur Hakobyan, or Արթուր Հակոբյան,is an Armenian Graphic Designer, Voice-Over actor, Founder of Cultural Channel (Armenia),The only licensed graphic designer in Armenia by Adobe Inc.
Biography
[edit]Arthour was born in Gyumri, Armenia. Shortly after, his family moved to Russia, where they lived for two years before returning to Armenia. In 2014, it was discovered that Arthour did not attend school in Russia for a year. During this break, his longing for his homeland led to the creation of the Cultural Channel (Armenia) television company, which became the only television company dedicated to covering Armenian culture.
Arthour became the first child in history to create a television company at such a young age without assistance. In 2017, he received a letter of thanks from the RA Minister of Culture, Armen Amiryan, for his significant contribution to the popularization of Armenian cultural values. [1] Subsequently, Arthour began translating films and creating numerous television documentaries. His voice resonated from the most prestigious stages in Armenia, and he served as the official voice of the Armenian radio station in France until 2018. In 2021, Arthour released the album "Promise to the Fatherland," featuring works of Armenian literary figures performed by Arthour. The well-known composition "Above the Clouds Are the Mountains" from this album marked Arthour's debut work and topped various charts. [2]
In 2024, Arthour released his second album, "Debris." This album reflects his connection to his homeland and his longing for his mother. It is said that this album is also dedicated to the memory of Arthour's friend who died in a tragic car accident [3]
Education
[edit]Arthour graduated from Hrant Matevosyan Primary School in Yerevan. He graduated with honors from Yerevan State College of Culture, faculty of theater, cinema, and television directing.
Career
[edit]Arthour's first performance was as the host of the Armenian pre-election stage of the "Slavyansky Bazar International Competition."
Similar concerts and events followed in 2017 and 2018 when Arthour participated in two more national pre-election rounds as a presenter. Arthour recorded his first album of Armenian poems in 2017. After returning to Armenia in 2016, Arthour was awarded the title of Honored Young Culture Figure by the French-Armenian Cultural Society. Since 2022, he has been working as a professional graphic designer in leading Armenian companies, such as Acba Bank, InecoBank, and Globbing Company.
In 2022, Arthour held a major exhibition at Yerevan's "Hay Art" cultural center, where thirty of his works were presented. At the end of the same year, he became an artist for the "DistroKID" company.
Charity
[edit]After the creation of the Cultural Channel, Arthour collected videos from the Gyumri "SHIRAK" NGO, which documented the lives of needy people living in Gyumri caravans. He then created ten television programs dedicated to the homeless of Gyumri.[4]
