Andrew Cubie, Lord Cubie, is a Scottish lawyer who serves as a Senator of the College of Justice.[1]
Cubie graduated from the University of Glasgow in 1984. He went on to practice as a solicitor and gained extended rights of audience to become a Solicitor Advocate. Before being appointed to judicial office, Cubie practised predominantly in civil law.
In 1997, Cubie was appointed as a Temporary Sheriff before becoming a permanent Sheriff in 2003. As a Sheriff he sat in Paisley, Stirling and Glasgow.
In April 2017, Cubie was appointed as an Appeal Sheriff sitting in the Sheriff Appeal Court and in 2019 he was appointed as a Temporary Judge.
It was announced on 23 May 2024 that Cubie had been appointed by King Charles III on the recommendation of the First Minister as a Senator of the College of Justice.[2]
