The Ambush near Peć took place on April 8, 1999, when members of the Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA) successfully ambushed and killed Vidomir Salipur, the commander of the Serbian militia group Munja (Lightning). Salipur was notorious for his brutal actions against ethnic Albanians in Peć and the surrounding villages.
