In the books of Kings and Chronicles, King Amaziah of Judah attacked and defeated the Edomites, seizing Selah, although they never subdued Edom completely. He employed a large mercenary army for 100 talents, as well as 300.000 Judean soldiers.[1]
Backround
[edit]Amaziah's great-grandfather Jehoram lost control over Edom due to its rebellion, Amaziah sought to reconquer it.[2]
