Research Career

[edit]

After completing a Bachelor of Biomedical Science, Alexander David Gibson completed a Master of Philosophy. His thesis examined predicting performance outcomes, the effect of environmental temperatures of performance in elite sport and was conferred in 2024[4]. He is now a PhD student examining poor statistical practices in published clinical prediction model research. His thesis is being undertaken with the Australian Centre for Health Services Innovation at the Queensland University of Technology.

His research interests relate to meta-research, medical sciences, research integrity, evidence based practices and statistics.

Research Fundraising

[edit]

Alexander David Gibson has completed physical endurance feats to raise awareness and funds for not-for-profit organisations. Most notably, he completed 12 marathons in 12 weeks[5][6] with an aim to raise $12,000 for the National Breast Cancer Foundation. Upon completion of the feat, he had raised a total of $37,106[6].
