Akram Hanna El Kozah was one of the commanders of the Lebanese Forces Sadem Special Units. [1]
Early life
[edit]Akram Kozah was born on August 5, 1962, in Deir El Ahmar.
He left his village at the age of 15 to join a military centre in Beirut. He would join the Lebanese Forces in 1982.
Military career
[edit]Akram Kozah received a promotion to Lieutenant in 1986, and became the commander of the Lebanese Forces Sadem Units in 1988.
Death
[edit]At the start of the War of Elimination in 1990, a tank shell suddenly hit Akram. His companion, Pierre Jabbour, asked, “What’s wrong, Akram?” Akram replied, “Ah… ah… ah.” A shrapnel fragment had struck Akram’s neck.
He was rushed to Ashqout Hospital, but on the way, Pierre Jabbour received a message that they had lost Akram. [2]
Legacy
[edit]Akram Kozah is honoured as a Martyr by the Lebanese Forces.
He is remembered for fighting in the War of Elimination while very ill with a fever over 40 degrees, he insisted on joining his soldiers despite the circumstances.
