Noting that the Borough of Raritan website and your personal candidate profile are primary sources and not independent or reliable. Adam S. Armahizer (Born August 30, 1998) is an American Politician and Labor Policy Advocate currently serving as a Councilman for the Borough of Raritan, New Jersey since January of 2023.[1] Currently serving as one of the youngest elected officials in Somerset County, New Jersey, he has focused on policies related to traffic infrastructure improvements, affordable housing development, and labor rights advocacy. [2][3]In 2023, Armahizer was ranked number twenty-one in the InsiderNJ's Top 100 Millennials publication. [4]
Early life and Education
[edit]After graduating from Bridgewater-Raritan Highschool[5], Armahizer served in the United States Marine Corps infantry from 2017 to 2021 where he was twice deployed to a total of eight countries throughout the Middle East, Europe, and Asia.[6] After completing his military service, Armahizer attended Raritan-Valley Community College and later transferred to Cornell University, where he is actively pursuing his undergraduate degree in Industrial and Labor Relations. [7]
Military Service
[edit]Armahizer served for four years in the United States Marines Corps Infantry as an 0352 Anti-tank Missileman with 1st Battalion, 2nd Marines. [8] Throughout Armahizer's first deployment, his unit was tasked with providing anti-armor javelin security for the Marines and Sailors aboard the USS Kearsarge during its crossings of the Red Sea and Persian Gulf.[9] In addition to training exercises and port visits in countries such as Greece, Spain, Jordan, and Bahrain- his unit was also tasked with training the Royal Army of Oman's 11th Infantry Brigade (Western Infantry Brigade)[10] before going to Kuwait to enhance the units rapid response capability.[11] Armahizer later deployed to Japan and South Korea, where he trained with members of the Republic of Korea Marine Corps (R.O.K.M.C.) 2nd Marine Infantry Division. Armahizer's military awards include the National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal (Red Sea), Sea Service Deployment Ribbon (2x awarded), Marine Corps Good Conduct Medal, Korean Defense Service Medal, and Expert Rifle Qualification Badge (2x awarded).
