Young people around the world, many of which are monarchs on unstable thrones, form an alliance to combat this. Senrid is king of the militant Marloven Hess where he faces immense pressure from his Jarls. Atan is queen of Sartor, the oldest country in the world. Jilo steps into the vacant throne of Chwahirsland which has been riddled with dark magic and famine by its previous ruler. Clair rules the small, rural Mearsies Heili.
