ABC Radio was a Bangladeshi private commercial FM radio station. It was a subsidiary of Mediastar Ltd.,[1] a subsidiary of Transcom Group. This radio station's radio frequency was 89.2 FM.[2] The station started operations on 7 January 2007 and was operated from Kawran Bazar, Dhaka, Bangladesh. It is no longer on air after coming under Rainbow Group on 31 May 2023.
Broadcast and programming
[edit]ABC Radio was known for its diverse programming, which included news bulletins, current affairs talk shows, radio documentaries, news reports, traffic updates, stock market information, and weather forecasts. The station broadcast live news every hour and provided breaking news coverage during sudden incidents. In addition to its own website, ABC Radio's news could be heard on the websites of Prothom Alo and Daily Star.
ABC Radio was part of the Rangdhanu Group, which also included country's 39th satellite channel Green Television. Listeners could participate in radio programs through their social media account or send SMS messages from any mobile operator number in Bangladesh.
ABC Radio was also known for its musical programs, adding to its diverse range of content. The station featured various music shows alongside its news bulletins, current affairs talk shows, radio documentaries, and other programming.
