Adam "A. J." Vinatieri Jr. is an American football placekicker and punter for the Louisville Cardinals. He previously played for the Ball State Cardinals.
Early life and high school
[edit]Vinatieri was born and grew up in Zionsville, Indiana. He attended Carmel High School in Carmel, Indiana for his freshman and sophomore seasons in high school, where he was the starting placekicker and handled kickoffs.[1] He later transferred to Zionsville Community High School in his hometown for his junior and senior seasons, where he played defensive end, offensive tackle, and tight end, but mainly played placekicker and handled kickoffs, and his team made the state championship in both seasons he was there.[1] Vinatieri committed to play at UMass on February 2, 2022.[2] Approximately 5 months after committing, Vinatieri decommitted from UMass on July 4, 2022,[3] and later committed to play for Ball State.

[edit]Vinatieri is the son of legendary National Football League placekicker Adam Vinatieri.[3]
