9News Nigeria is a Nigerian online news media company an offshoot of Nine Communications Nigeria Limited based in Nigeria that provides news and analysis on politics, business, entertainment, sports, and more across Nigerian and the globe, envisioned as the most trusted, unbiased, and authentic news source. 9News Nigeria was founded in 2016 by Australian-based Nigerian, Mr Obinna Sunday Ejianya.[1]

9News Nigeria was founded in 2016 by Australian-based Nigerian, Mr Obinna Sunday Ejianya. as an independent online media platform that seeks to positively influence the leaders and people of Nigeria and Africa by providing accurate and informative news content.

Since its formation in 2016, 9News Nigeria has successfully established News Bureaus in major states and 6 geopolitical zones in Nigeria including Anambra, Delta, Edo, Osun, Kwara, Lagos, Rivers, Abuja, South-East, South-South, South-West, North-Central and the FCT in Nigeria .

9News Nigeria currently has over 50 News Editors and reporters across Nigeria and internationally.[2]

9News Nigeria is a leading advocate for accountability and good governance in Nigeria. In a public enlightenment program for journalists in Awka, Anambra State, the Publisher of 9News Nigeria, Mr. Obinna Ejianya emphasized the importance of impartial reporting in fostering good governance and transparency and urged journalists to uphold their responsibility to hold those in power accountable which underscores 9News Nigeria’s dedication to promoting integrity and ethical journalism in Nigeria.[3]

He affirmed that 9News Nigeria has never accepted funding from any political or special interest group.[4]

In 2021, 9News Nigeria organized an online poll ahead of the Anambra state governorship elections which was won by Valentine Chineto Ozigbo of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).[5]
