Youth Central League teams
[edit]Ten teams are competing in 2 groups – eight teams from the previous season and the two new teams.[2] Seven of the eleven teams from the U17 Capital Development League (CDL) are competing, along side four Regional Representative Teams from Central Football. The two new teams are CF – Havelock North Wanderers and CF – Palmerston North United. This is both their times in the Youth Central League. They replace CF – Napier City Rovers (after one season), Stop Out (after one season), Upper Hutt City (after two seasons) and CF – Whanganui Athletic (after one season). Central Football clubs do not have the correct Talent Development Program licensing to qualify for the Youth Central League, as such they will participate as Regional Representative Teams (CF –) in which Capital/Central Football will decide how that is handled.[3]
