Draft:2024 Middle East Rally Championship

The 2024 Middle East Rally Championship is an international rally championship sanctioned by the FIA. The championship is contested over five events held in five Middle East countries from January to November.

Competitions

  • FIA MERC - Main open championship for all current FIA-homologated cars within sporting classes RC2 to RC5, with Rally2 cars the leading contenders.[1]
  • FIA MERC2 - second tier, for Rally2-kit, N4 and R4 cars.[1]
  • FIA MERC3 - third tier, specifically for the Rally3 class.[1]
  • FIA MERC4 - fourth MERC tier, the first for front-wheel-drive cars. Allows Rally4 and Rally5 cars.[1]
  • FIA MERC Junior: For drivers aged 26 and under on 1 January 2024 in Rally4 and Rally5 cars.[1]

Scoring system

Points for final position are awarded as in the following table in MERC, MERC2, MERC3 and MERC4. In all classes, the best four scores from the five rounds count towards the final number of points.

There are also five bonus points awarded to the winners of the Power Stage, four points for second place, three for third, two for fourth and one for fifth. Power Stage points are awarded only in the main MERC drivers' and co-drivers' championships.
