The National Football League playoffs for the 2024 season will begin on January 11, 2025, and will conclude with Super Bowl LIX on February 9 at the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans, Louisiana.

Format

[edit]

The playoffs are scheduled to begin with the wild-card round, with three wild-card games played in each conference. Wild Card Weekend is planned for January 11–13, 2025. In the Divisional round, scheduled for January 18–19, the top seed in the conference will play the lowest remaining seed and the other two remaining teams will play each other. The winners of those games will advance to the Conference Championship games scheduled for January 26. Super Bowl LIX is scheduled for February 9 at the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans, Louisiana.[1]

Playoff scenarios

[edit]

As of November 18, 2024 (the end of week 11), no teams have yet to qualify for the playoffs.

Media coverage

[edit]

Three of the Wild Card games will be aired by NBC this postseason, holding rights to the Saturday afternoon game under its annual rotation with CBS and Fox since 2020, the Sunday night game under the fourth year of a separate seven-year deal. ESPN will be entering its fourth year of their five-year deal for the Monday night Wild Card game, with a simulcast on ABC, and Manningcast alternative telecast on ESPN2.[2][3][4] The remaining two Sunday afternoon games will be carried by CBS and Fox.[2] The four broadcast television partners will now each air one Divisional Playoff game per season, with ESPN/ABC taking over the slot that was previously rotated between CBS and Fox.[2] CBS and Fox also retain the rights to have exclusive coverage of the AFC and NFC Championship Games, respectively.

Fox will televise Super Bowl LIX.
