The 1970 Wisconsin State Assembly election is scheduled to be held on Tuesday, November 3, 1970. All 100 seats in the Wisconsin State Assembly were up for election. At the time of the election, 51 seats were held by the Republican Party, 48 by the Democratic Party, and one seat by an Independent. These were the final state assembly elections held under the 100 seat legislature, which was reduced in 1971 Act 304 to 99 seats and established the modern nesting model of redistricting used in Wisconsin.

- ^ The results of the 1962 election were contested after Democrat Earl H. Elfers was declared the winner by a margin of 5 votes, post-recount. Due to the dispute the legislature chose to seat Olson in February 1963. In 1964 the judge assigned to the case, John Ahlgrimm, ruled in favor of Elfers. In 1965, the Wisconsin Supreme Court ruled that Elfers had been provisionally seated, and the legislature was within its rights to seat Olson due to the election dispute.
