Sores Ismail Abdula (born 1965 – 15 June 2021) was a Kurdish political leader, activist, and a prominent figure in the Kurdish political scene in Syria and Iraq. He was a founding member of the Kurdish Council Movement and known for his advocacy of Kurdish rights, autonomy, and national unity.

Early life

Sores Ismail Abdula was born in 1965 in Al-Qamishli, located in the Kurdish-majority region of Syrian Kurdistan. Growing up in a politically charged environment, Abdula became involved in Kurdish activism at a young age. He participated in various local protests and movements advocating for Kurdish cultural rights and autonomy under Syrian rule.

Political activism

Abdula’s political activism began in the early 1980s when he joined the Kurdish resistance against both the Syrian regime and the regional dominance of Arab nationalist movements.
