Deewani (transl. Crazy lover)[1] is an Indian Hindi-language drama television series that airs on Dangal under the banner of Shakuntalam Telefilms and stars Aditi Sanwal, Nitin Goswami[2] and Sehrish Ali.[3][4] It premiered on 18 March 2024.[5]

Plot

Meera is a teenage beautiful women lives with her family at Uttar Pradesh as she believed in love and marriage. One Day, Meera was saved by Parth, who is the son of famous businessman, Madan Thakur as he hates his father due to his behavior. Parth is in love with Payal as Meera liked their combination but her parents including her mother, Chhaya and her father, Sanjeev believes that Parth will ruin her daughter doesn't allows her to meet him as Meera and Parth becomes friends despite her parents's rule.

Meera discovers Payal is having an affair with Tharun and exposes her to Parth. Parth, who discovers Payal's truth and confronts her at her house and she reveals how she used to love him as she is love with Tharun. Due to their altercation, Parth's brother, Garv accidentally pushes Payal to the terrace which leads to her death. To avoid Garv's arrest and the family’s reputation, Parth tooks his blame and gets arrested as Meera is shocked to learns this but her parents blackmails her and she is sends to somewhere for completing her further education.

Path is now released from jail after 7 years as Meera had completed her education as Parth and Meera meets eachother as Meera proposes Parth but he rejects as he hates love due to the incident. Meanwhile Garv falls for Meera as the Meera's family and the Thakur family had fixed Garv and Meera's marriage unaware of the truth. Meanwhile, Parth's grandmother and Sheela discovers Parth and Meera's relationship but Manju discovers their relationship exposes them on their wedding day as Garv fights with Parth but Meera blames the family members causing Parth's grandmother to suffering from an panic attack as she asked Meera to marry Parth and they agrees and gets Married but her family disowns her and doesn't accepts Parth while Sheela doesn't accepts Meera and starts to hates her alongside with Garv, Manju, Sahil and Mr. Thakur, Manju's husband while Madan, Parth's grandmother, Manju's daughter, Pragya and her husband, Nachiket supports her while Sheela and Manju starts to humiliate Meera whereas Garv decided to take revenge against on the couples.

Parth and Meera starts to falls for eachother as Manju's son, Sahil falls for Meera's younger sister, Smriti "Bittu". But however Priyal, Payal's younger twin sister seeks her revenge against on Parth for her sister's death and she poses herself as Payal. Parth mistakes Priyal as Payal so he decided to marry Payal/Priyal by divorcing Meera as Priyal falls for Parth. Meera discovers her truth and exposes Priyal to Parth by bringing Priyal's family as Meera's reveals Parth's innocence to Priyal but Priyal doesn't believes this and pushes Parth into a cliff but he survives and gets injured and is hospitalised as Garv gives money for his treatment.

Parth returns from his injuries and does many odd jobs as he is rejected by some companies due to his murdering charges of Payal. Devika Basu, a modelling photographer gets attracted towards on Parth offers him to become a model as Meera encourages him thus he agreed to work with her as Garv still keeps trying to seperate Parth and Meera. It is revealed that Devika is suffering from an mental illness and she gets obsessed with Parth as she decided to seperate the couples as Meera discovers Devika's intension so she decided to save her relationship but Devika hires Rudra, a hitman to separate Meera and Parth as Rudra gets falls for Meera and becomes obsessed. Meanwhile, Sahil impregnated Smriti and cheats her as he doesn't accepts her child as Meera and Parth discovers this lashes out at him but Smriti tries to commit suicide as Meera stops her as Garv keeps an opportunity to separate Meera and Parth by using her sister and he marries Smriti.

Garv makes Smriti to miscarry her child as he makes Smriti to believe that Meera had caused her miscarriage and starts to blames Meera while Devika and Rudra creates many problems but Smriti finally discovers the truth and exposes Garv and leaves. But on the Janmashtami day Devika and Rudra seperates Parth and Meera as Rudra makes an explosion and kidnaps as Meera discovers Rudra's truth but Rudra forced Meera by blackmailing her thus she had no choice and is forced to live with him as Parth and the entire family assumes that Meera is dead as Meera's father, Sanjeev blames them for his daughter's lose.

Meera is lived with Rudra after 1 year as Rudra keeps tortures Meera as Parth who misses Meera lives under her memories as his family had fixed his marriage with Devika which also causes Chhaya gets killed in an accident. It is revealed that, Rudra had forced Meera by writing fake letter to Parth to make him to move him as Devika whom had succeeded by seperating Meera and Parth as she is unaware that Meera is still alive. Parth and Meera meets eachother but Parth believes Meera had cheated on her and marries Rudra so he decided to marry Devika. Smriti returns to the family to seek revenge against on the family as Garv and Sahil defames her by bringing many womens and humiliates her thus destroying her life as Smriti teaches Garv, Sahil, Manju and Sheela into a good lesson.

Meera escapes from Rudra's trap and returns to stop Parth and Devika's marriage as Smriti discovers and helps Meera as Meera made Rudra into believing that Devika kidnaps her and he kidnaps Devika and Meera brings Parth and exposes Devika and Rudra to Parth as Devika discovers Meera is alive and he and Meera both defeats Devika and Rudra and gets them arrested as Smriti reveals their truth to the family thus reuniting Meera and Parth as Devika is sents to Mental Asylum while Rudra is sents to jail but however they still plots to seperate the couples.

Rudra discovers Madan is his father and he had caused his mother, Vrinda and his sister, Varsha's death. It is revealed that Madan had an marital affair with Sheela when he had married with Vrinda as Madan marries Sheela but however, Vrinda and Varsha discovers the truth and commits suicide by lefting Rudra alone as Madan, Sheela and his mother had kept the truth as a secret from everyone but Rudra exposes his identity to everyone as Madan, Sheela discovers Rudra is Madan's son and also to being Parth and Garv's half-brother as the entire family included Parth and Garv gets shocked to learns about the truth.

Parth lashes out at Madan for keeping the secret while Rudra decided to take revenge against on the family members and threats them to kill Sheela as Rudra creates many problems to destroy the family.

Development and casting

The series was announced by Shakuntalam Telefilms July 2023 and was confirmed in February 2024 by Dangal. Initially, Sonal Vengurlekar and Saumya Saraswat[10] were in talks to play the female negative lead, but they later declined due to unspecified reasons. In August 2023, Nitin Goswami, Sanchita Ugale, Jyothi Mukherjee[11] and Veronica Talreja[12] joined the cast.[13] Many of them later backed out due to late production development. In January 2024, Aditi Sanwal, Nitin Goswami and Sehrish Ali were signed as the leads.[12]

Release

The first promo was released on 28 February 2024 featuring Aditi Sanwal, Nitin Goswami and Sehrish Ali.[3] It was Launched on 18 March 2024.[14] It replaced the television series Sasumaa Ne Meri Kadar Na Jaani.[citation needed]
