Deeplink is the developer of deeplink.me, a deep linking platform that directs URLs to content within mobile apps.[1]
History
[edit]Deeplink was founded in 2013 by Avi Elias, Noah Klausman, and Itamar Weisbrod. Their primary software is a tool for marketers and developers to create links that direct mobile users directly to the appropriate app, or a mobile landing page if the app is not installed.[3]
While developing the content-discovery network Nextap, mobile software start-up Cellogic identified the need for a deep linking service.[3] The Deeplink.me service was launched in May 2013[4] using $1.35 million in seed funding from Prolific Venture Capital.[1]
According to the company's LinkedIn page, Deeplink.me was later acquired by Yahoo!.[5] As of August 2022, the company's website is offline.[6]
Product
[edit]Deeplink is a deep linking service; when a user clicks on a hyperlink referring to an app not already installed on their device, deeplink.me directs the user to install the app. If the app is already installed on the device, it will be opened to handle the clicked link.[7][8]
Deeplinks are commonly found in email marketing campaigns,[9] social media,[10] and QR codes.
Deeplink also manages a retargeting network which delivers advertisements based on the apps installed on the user's device.[3][11] It can redirect users to a specific page within an app based on user data or bring them back into an abandoned cart or a product page.[12]
In March 2015, Deeplink.me launched AppWords, a deep linking ad platform designed for complementary apps.[13]
